147 1918 SS Leinster. Letter and Bank of Ireland cheque from L & E Egan Arran Quay, Dublin, rescued from mail bag washed ashore after sinking of the "Leinster" by German submarine. Also charred cheque dated 25th May 1921 handed in to Custom House just before it was set on fire by Republican forces, with note stating that cheque was honoured by Bank of Ireland the following month.
