Flight Cover. 1935 cover
carried by Felix Waitkus on Lituanica II New York to Lithuania.
Waitkus successfully crossed the Atlantic becoming only the 6th
solo pilot to do so but was forced by bad weather to crash land
in the West of Ireland. Although the plane suffered extensive damage
Waitkus continued the journey to Kaunas by surface where the cover
was returned by post to Chicago. Cover has flight cachets and is
signed by Waitkus. Fine. Pic
